Just eight hours after I told you this morning that bird flu cases were on the rise, we now have official confirmation from APHA: an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) with mandatory housing measures has been declared across huge areas of the UK. From 00:01 on 30th October, all keepers with over 50 birds — and anyone who sells or gives away eggs or poultry products, even if they keep fewer than 50 — must now house their birds under cover. The affected regions include Cheshire, Cumbria, Derby
