An Antarctic king penguin has delighted a group of birdwatchers, after making a surprise appearance on a beach in SA’s Coorong area. Australian Antarctic Division senior research scientist Dr Barbara Wienecke told the ABC the creature likely visited the beach to start moulting, as the species is very rarely sighted away from Antarctica or sub-Antarctic islands.
